Lafayette Paris’ Sport Division organised the reception of 350 Ajax Amsterdam fans in Lille!

The Football Club Ajax Amsterdam recently met the LOSC Lille at home for the UEFA Champions League! Outcome 0-2, well-done Ajax Amsterdam!

Around this match, Lafayette Paris’ Sport Division got to organize all land arrangements for Ajax Amsterdam in Lille. 5 hotels have been booked for a total of 350 people travelling to Lille. Among others, we had amazing partnerships with the famous 5-star properties Barrière Hotel and Hermitage Gantois. Out of the 350 attendees, we organized 2 specific programs, one for the « Board & Sponsors », and one for the « Business Relations ».

The « Board & Sponsors » got the chance to dine at Brasserie Coke, a famous restaurant in Lille, full of history. In addition to a perfect service and an upmarket French cuisine, this neoclassical building used to be the Head office of the Council, meeting to fix, among other things, the price of Coke for its stock market listing. We also know how keen are Dutch people with cycling. The group went to the STAB Vélodrome in Roubaix as a morning activity and got to experience cycling on a track race (Watch out! Not a « regular » track race, but the proper one with a 44° of slopes); Aside, a lovely coffee break with waffles – one of Lille’s food treasures – was served and a tour of the stadium was also organized. This stadium is quite famous for the well-known « Paris-Roubaix Race »!

As a pre-match dinner, a cocktail reception took place in La Chapelle, followed by a seated dinner in Salon des Hospices in the Hotel guests were staying at. What to say? Hermitage Gantois offered a memorable experience that guests will not forget!

The « Business Relations », group of 150 guests, had dinner in the famous establishment Terrasse des Remparts, one of the eldest in Lille. Not a bad experience to start with, a French high-end gastronomy in an historical atmosphere! We wanted guests to explore Lille City Center, and the best way to do it is, to walk! We organized walking tours with various stops. Guests could not avoid tasting beers in the microbreweries neither taste a waffle in the famous Meert establishment! A truly memorable experience that guests really enjoyed despite the rain! One of the highlights is also the pre-match dinner of the group which took place in the venue Clos de la Source, located on the way to Stade Pierre Mauroy. A very charming and rustic venue which did suit very much to the type of experience we wanted guests to have, and of course, to warm up before the match kick-off!
